From New York to Rome, Italy Fannell has performed as a professional opera singer for over thirty years. Her tours have included New Orleans, Louisiana, New York, New York, Fort Worth, Texas, and the Sammons Center for the Arts in Dallas, Texas. She has also performed professionally with the New Orleans Opera, the Fort Worth Opera, the Rome Opera Festival Symphony, and the Rome Opera Festival. Fannell graduates Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Arts (B.A.) degree in Music from Xavier University and holds a Masters of Music (M.M.) degree from Louisiana State University. She has also studied privately with Dr. Thomas Hayward at Southern Methodist University.
With over thirty five years of professional teaching and professional performance experience, Fannell not only has a wealth of knowledge but, also a tremendous amount of experience. Her teaching style is very professionally driven towards developing the student’s talent, respective interests and career goals. She consistently gives the highest standard in vocal quality instruction and desires to see all of her students reach their utmost success as consummate performing artists.
Fannell is known for her signature “Singing On the Breath” technique and is excellent at identifying and correcting vocal flaws quickly. In addition, Fannell enjoys preparing students for auditions and professional operas in their selective language. In addition, she teaches all genres of music including musical theater and assists students in transitioning from one genre to another. She also provides vocal coaching on the vocal maintenance and health of the voice during and after performances. And gives a plethora of knowledge on having the correct performance skills throughout their career.
